Shrine Room Windows

Walking through the front doors of the church, the shrine room is located immediately to the left of the vestibule. Prayer candles and various icons and statues fill the space as well.

John the Baptist baptizes Jesus in the Jordan River. John is often depicted in art holding a staff and scroll inscribed “Ecce Agnus Dei”, which means “Behold, the Lamb of God.”

John answered them, “I baptize with water; but there is one among you whom you do not recognize, the one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie.” The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. …” John testified further, saying, “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky and remain upon him. I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.’ Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.”
John 1:26-27,29,32-34
